A while back when chest runs were still good, I was buying keys and by accident I paid 6k for 6 keys instead of 3k. My mess up, but the person I was buying from opened another trade window and gave me 6 more keys Made my morning!

Me, Last night, I told everyone in the group that if I get to craft @ the forge I'll give each person 1 glob of ectoplasm and 3 obsidain shards...
well we get to the armor crafting circle one drops (ele nuker) no problems...
2 shards droped for me and I gave those away to the guy who wanted the excess shards (in town I mentioned I dont need shards anymore due to no one picked up my ranger)
3/4th the way thru spiders a gold shadow shield drops, they ask how good it is; no ID kit, guy gives me one, and give it back with the shield (only 27hp in stance)
we finish the spiders I craft my necro FoW peices I wanted and gave everyone what I promised; 1 Glob of Ectoplasm and 3 Obsidain shards...
then I contact the droped person and give him his share...

Kudos and multiple thanks to the generous necro whom I met yesterday at the Citadel. I was standing there, thinking of launching into my first Titans quest with my necro when I noticed a whisper "Are you here to buy 15K armor?" I answered that I had the 15K bonelace skirt (I had splurged after THK success) but I kinda liked the look I had going (have two sets of infused armor so I could switch looks...was wearing the revealing Fanatic's top and plain leggings at the time, the 15K skirt and another top were tucked away). She opened a trade window and popped in 30K and said to treat myself. After I told her it was unnecessary ....appreciated! but unnecessary, she insisted and I accepted. She then ran to storage and brought me back bones and tanned hides. I used some of them to go ahead and craft the remaining 15K bonelace except the boots (I really like the high-high top buckled look of the Fanatic's boots ) and dyed it a lovely shade of gold. Although it was completely not necessary, "treating" myself so lavishly for having made it to end game felt really nice---especially when someone else of the same profession thought of it and so incredibly and generously provided the means. This set of armor will take Catrin right into chapter 2!

I will give newbies the remainder of the bones (quite a lot of them are left). I gave a new monk a plain max Divine Symbol today and will give another someone a Healing Ankh later tonight. It's getting harder to give things away, I find, since people are either wary of scams or want only gold.

I think the nicest thing in GW anyone has done for me was when I was talking to Shevaa (posted earlier in the thread). I explained that I was having difficulty doing the Thirsty River mission (I had tried it about 12 times) and she was more than willing to help and several of her guild friends came along.

One of the best parts about it was, despite the fact that I had attempted that mission 12 times and doing it was becoming annoying, I genuinly found it fun and enjoyable to do with those lot ......and we beat it btw

I've just started up a new character and set a goal of getting every mission done with the bonus, in order. Not trusting henchies to get the job done on the D'Alessio Seaboard bonus, I got into a PUG that was doing Mission/Bonus. We started out and when we hit the town to save the guy that lets you get to the bonus, and before we could get to him, he died. CRAP! Ah well, I'm thinking - have to come back and hit it again after we get done. But what I didn't know was that half the people were there specifically for the bonus, as I was the last one to join and we started out just after I joined. So we met back up in town and started over. Coolness! The second time out tho, my grapics card started acting up (probably a bit overhaeated) - characters taking on the shapes of rocks, sky appearing where hills are supposed to be, and finally whole screen turning solid red.
So while everyone else is fighting it out in game, I'm fighting with my 'puter to get some visuals going. I typed in that my video was messing up, so they knew what was going on. I finally got my picture back and turned down the graphics setting in-game. That helped a bit, but not as well as it should - everytime we got into battle, madness! We finished the mission and got the bonus. In town, I managed to check over the whole chat log and saw that not one person bitched, whined or complained about my situation - other than the "Oh man, sorry you're having problems" kind of thing. The party leader decided that it was the urn that you take to the shrine causing the problem - LOL.

So, there's FIVE anti-jerks for you. All in the same PUG!

Another nice thing one of my friends/guildies did. today i was trying to get black dye to dye my whole armor set and I ended up buying two hubby had found one a little while back he gave me and my friend gave me the one she had so i could dye the whole set =0). My friends/guildies...are awsome. they are always doing stuff to help out. always helping with quests and missions or getting ascended or just about anything. They will ask what I am doing and when I tell them they always ask if I need help and always expect nothing in return. People like that is why I love this game.

A couple really nice things in the past few days (just because I think niceness should be aknowledged):

I bid the (low, imo) opening price on an Eternal bow in Ventari's Sell. It wasn't the most magnificent bow, but nice and I stated in my bid post that it was for a guildie who was having difficulty finding a relatively clean max bow he could upgrade. I was the first bidder on anything the guy advertised so I figured the auction would go a while, no problem. Later that day, the seller pm'd me and we met in LA Int'l. I offered my bid price (assuming that he just wanted to clean out storage and that was why he accepted my bid so quickly) and he canceled the trade. Puzzled, I asked him what he wanted. He said it was FREE. I thanked him several times, gave the bow to my guildie later and he was tickled with it as I knew would be the case. *That* seller didn't give away a vast sum of money or a green item, but he made a player's day (mine and my guildie's) and should be mentioned for his generosity.

If I haven't already mentioned the lovely lady who gave my ranger a +29 hp grip quite a while ago, I do now.

And finally (for today ), the individual who asked in Augury whether there was such a thing as a +15/-1 cane/rod. After waiting and not seeing any respones in open chat, I pm'd him and replied that yes, there were collector's pieces, but not any max that I was aware of (there may be). He then asked where they were. I spent a scant two or three minutes referring back to the collector's charts at guildwiki for the various professions and sent him the info on several. He thanked me and I expected it to end there. A little bit later, he opened trade with me and gave me 5K!!!! I declined, it was just a few minutes of my time and a bit of help I try to give anyone who needs it, but he insisted that 'kindness should be rewarded'. I accepted (I felt slightly guilty, but realistically, since my mesmer would need some pieces of Forge armor, etc. and the old storage bank was getting hit rather hard lately.....).

I've never taken anything from anybody. I always like giving people and making their day.

A few weeks ago a guy was begging for donations for his 55 superiors. I gave him 60k.

Gold is no biggie to me. I went from 0g to 160k in 6 hours. I love my business.

i can honestly say that no one has ever helped me in this game.. when i started i went through pre on my own.. then all the way to piken on my own. after that i started doin missions with random pugs.. some were mean .. some nice.. but the thing is.. no one ever helped.. then on my second char i only looked to get run all the way.. i had to pay for every run and every item.. nowa days im big and to my knowlege rich i have played 700 hours in 3 months. i farm like a bat outa hell. and every single weekend i get drunk and run folks to droks for free..

but in the end the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me.. was after i gave a free run to droks i went back to beacons to make another.. and the whole 5 other people that i had ran for free where there talkin trash to all the supposed "pro" runers that charged 3-4 k for runs. they all just sat there and kept messaging. i was the greatest runner they had ever seen.. i have recieved so many pm's about runnin seince then from people saying they have heard that i ran good. and since that day whenever or wherever i run.. its always free

I was in Lions Arch last night trying out lots of different dye combos for my armor. Unknown to me, there was someone watching. After about 30min of mixing dyes and not finding the right color, a warrior pm's asking if I was trying to find the perfect color for my armor. I told her yes, and then she opened up a trade with a mixed dye in it. She said, see if you like this one. So I put it on, and to my amazment it was the exact color I had been trying to make. She then gave me her recipe for the dye. I was floored that someone had spent the time watching me trying to make that color and then spent their own money to create the dye for me. I ended up giving her 5k (I know thats not much to some...but I had already spent 20k in dyes by that point) just for being a nice person and expecting nothing in return for helping someone else out. I'm so glad to see that there are still lots of nice people out there willing to help, even without asking for it.

My guild is always giving stuff away and we view it as a way to show our love and care for the gaming community. One day I was in Ascalon City giving stuff away and had someone PM me about the item a little too late. I said I was sorry, but that if he wanted I had something else for him. Opened the trade window and gave him/her 1 plat. The chat after that read, "Holy CRAP!" Gotta love doing those things

I agree with what someone else said, that it's as important to be grateful when you're given something, as it is to not be stingy. I sometimes give things to people I consider 'good gamers', those with a mature pleasant attitude about them who I enjoyed playing with. As a monk I also haunt the later missions, and just ask for mursaat token drops as a donation

Yeah the nicest thing has been a compliment. I was in a PUG last weekend with my Monk and we worked our way through the Ring of Fire and Abaddon's Mouth missions relatively quickly and a few people made comments like "great heals" and "we're lucky we found good monks."

This of course is such a nice change of pace from the "WTF! where's the healing? i hate noobs!" after I've been spamming heals for 15 minutes straight and a party member goes down in FoW or the Tomb's UW.

I once tipped everyone in my PUG 3K when we completed the FoW Forgemaster quests the night I was ready to craft. I did it to keep the PUG from falling apart early. When we finished, the warriors in the party were like "OK it's done gimmie my money now" and were sending trade requests before I even finished crafting. /sigh

Maybe it's time to find myself a real guild lol...

Whenever I create a new character I always stay in pre-Searing till level 8/9.
While levelling I give away all my spare spider legs, un-natural seeds and gargoyle skulls for people to get armour upgrades.

Tonight I was spammed for giving them away, just because he was selling them for 15g each.

One person I helped out a couple months ago, recently gave me 1k just coz he recognised my character name and was grateful of the help earlier.

As the saying goes "No good deed goes un-rewarded"
